What Happens to PNG Transparency During Conversion?
JPG does not support transparency. When converting a PNG with transparent areas to JPG, the transparent pixels must be filled with a solid color. Our converter defaults to white, which works for most images on white backgrounds. For graphics on dark backgrounds, use a matching color. If you need transparency preserved, consider converting to WebP instead, which supports both transparency and high compression.
